A 13 year old is being investigated by police linked to a clown threat. Brownsville ISD Police believe he may have sent threatening messages on Facebook. This is a story we’ve been continuing to track and it is part of a nationwide trend.
18 year old Bradley Salinas was arrested for allegedly making an online threat. So far 8 BISD campuses have been targeted including 5 middle schools. BISD and Brownsville Police say there have been no sightings of any clowns but threatening Facebook posts will not be tolerated.
Dr. Esperanza Zendejas, BISD Superintendent, “I hope that students understand the difference between a threat and the threat they can get them in trouble but if they don’t this is where we need the help of the parents to probably review again what is considered a threat and we can get them in trouble not only in school but at home.”
Bradley Salinas is charged with State Felony making a False Report. This comes with a stiff sentence from 2 years to 10 years in prison if convicted.
