16-year-old facing charges for fatal crash in Brownsville

A 16-year-old male is currently in police custody after being involved in a fatal crash in Brownsville that killed two teens.  

According to the Brownsville Police Department, the sixteen-year-old is facing two counts of criminal negligent homicide. 

The vehicle crashed into a Brownsville property on the 300 block of West 5th Street,  just after midnight on Oct. 9. 

Police say a vehicle, which had four occupants, crashed into the property, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Brayan Alfaro and 16-year-old Pedro Herminio Cerda Rojas.

The other two occupants of the vehicle, a 15 and 16-year-old, are in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
