$1 million grant for all-inclusive park

HARLINGEN, Texas – A ground breaking ceremony in Harlingen marks the start of construction for their new destination park.

Lon C. Hill Destination Park is being funded with a grant of $1 million from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. With the help of State Representative Oscar Longoria. The all-inclusive playground will include an entry court, center plaza, landscaping, and water features to be enjoyed by the community.

State Representative Oscar Longoria, “I anticipate that it’ll be something big where the community will be able to see the benefits and they will be able to come. Families will be able to come here and get together whether they have birthday parties or whether they just want to have just a weekend get together with the kids it’s going to be something nice.”

Phase one of the construction will begin in the next couple months. The project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2020.
