Congressman Vicente Gonzalez announced the availability of funds to upgrade infrastructure in America.
According to a release, the $1 billion funds come as part of the Department of Transportations Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation Discretionary Grants program.
BUILD evaluates projects based on criteria including safety, economic competitiveness, quality of life, environmental sustainability, state of good repair, innovation and partnership.
“Infrastructure investment should also include room for technological innovation that will modernize our roads and bridges, increase efficiency, and lower our carbon footprint,” said Congressman Gonzalez in the release. “My office is ready to assist all who wish to apply for this funding.”
According to the release, this round of BUILD Transportation grants, the maximum grant award is $25 million, and no more than $100 million can be awarded to a single State.
