MCALLEN, Texas – Some exciting news coming from the McAllen ISD. One of their schools has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
Sam Houston Elementary was nominated as an exemplary high performing school back in January of this year. The announcement being made by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Only 26 schools in Texas were nominated for the prestigious award. School board president Marco Suarez comparing the achievement to winning the Super Bowl or World Series.
