Edinburg, Texas (KVEO)–Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez reported 143 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths Tuesday.
“We are in a war, and we have lots of soldiers. Each one of you is a soldier in this war and we have equipped you with the necessary tools to protect yourself as much as you can from being contaminated with this virus” said Cortes.
In a Facebook live video, Cortez urged residents to practice the necessary precautions.
Cortez says hospital beds in the county are at a good capacity right now.
“I have to beg you, to please, please, don’t make it necessary for someone to tell you what to do” said Cortez.
