Kids appreciation day at Gladys Porter Zoo

News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – H-E-B and Gladys Porter zoo are hosting their annual kids’ appreciation day this Saturday, August 3rd from noon to 4 P.M. complete with giveaways, games, activities and much more.

Children will receive a passport that will take them throughout the zoo and the first 1,000 kids to receive a passport will receive a goody bag filled with H-E-Buddy school supplies.

“It’s a really cool event, it’s an event that’s been growing throughout the years now through our partnership with other organizations. We’ve grown into a really solid back-to-school event that we get to give out many school supplies for kids. We give out 1000 goody bags full of school supplies to the first 1000 kids that make their passport and then we also have some giveaways and other activities throughout the event,” says Charlie Abrego of Gladys Porter Zoo.

Children can also enter a raffle to win prizes like tickets to Schlitterbahn, bikes, backpacks and more.

Parents of school-age children can also take advantage of a back-to-school expo that will be in the Gladys Porter Zoo special events building.
