MCALLEN, Texas – It’s Christmas in July as McAllen introduces this year’s Christmas parade theme.
The city is officially recognized as the south pole of Texas in McAllen, bringing real snow to the Rio Grande Valley this holiday season.
As part of its 40-day celebration, all new featured snow attractions like an ice-skating rink and snow sliding tubes are coming to the McAllen Convention Center, promising to be a memory making experience for the entire family.
“What’s exciting about McAllen is that it doesn’t snow so we want families to come actually get their hands physically on the snow, be able to throw snowballs, be able to make snowmen, and slide down the big ice tubing hill that we have. Excuse me the ice sliding hill that we have here,” says Warren Lyng who is a part of the Parade’s Creative Production Team.
The attractions will be available November 27 to January 6. The parade is set for December 7.
