Hidalgo Sheriff Investigating Allegations of Misconduct by Progreso Police Officer

EDINBURG, Texas — The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation of Official Oppression at the Progreso Police Department.

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Progreso regarding allegations of misconduct by an officer of the Progreso Police Department.

The Sheriff’s Office has been conducting law enforcement activities regarding the investigation with the assistance of the FBI. This case is ongoing and case specifics will not be released at this time.
