Harlingen to break ground on Lon C. Hill Destination Park

HARLINGEN, Texas – The city of Harlingen will be taking part in a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the Destination Park.

The ceremony is scheduled for November 26 at 9 A.M. at Lon C. Hill Park, located at 1517 Fair Park Boulevard.

Phase 1 of the park is being partly funded by a grant of $1,000,000 from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department thanks to State Representative Oscar Longoria, who will also be attending the ceremony.

The park includes an entry court, center plaza, water features, landscaping, improvements to L & L 1/2 Streets, and a parking lot.

The project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2020.
