Harlingen suspect charged with murder

HARLINGEN, Texas – According to the Harlingen Police Department, Anthony Eliff III, the suspect in a homicide investigation, has been charged with murder.

On February 6, 2020 shortly after 10:00 P.M. Harlingen Police responded to the 3300 block of Adams Landing in reference to reports of a male that had been shot.

Once they arrived they discovered a deceased Hispanic male sitting in a parked vehicle with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Guillermo Garcia.

After an investigation, police identified the suspect as Anthony Eliff III and placed him under arrest.

He is being charged with one count of murder and possession of a controlled substance

His bond for the murder charge is $1.9 million, and the bond for the possession of a controlled substance is set to $40,000.
