Harlingen High School celebrates graduates with virtual graduation

News

HARLINGEN, Texas – Harlingen High School’s class of 2020 was able to celebrate their graduation in a non-traditional way on Saturday.

Instead of graduating in front of hundreds, the class graduated with a few dozen.

The class walked with their classmates to a virtual stage set up by the school.

Skylar Zapata was grateful that he was still able to celebrate this huge accomplishment.

“We have worked, all of our high school through middle school and elementary to get to this point. I mean, it means a lot to go and walk the stage. The stage that we are making.”

Zapata plans on going into the army to become a combat medic. He leaves next month.
