H-E-B offering B Metro Passes to residents affected by store closing

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – H-E-B is offering Brownsville “B Metro” Cards to residents affected by the closing of their store located on 924 East Elizabeth street. The store which has been in business for 60 years is closing due to the need of extensive renovations. Residents living within a one mile radius from the store will be able to apply for free B Metro cards.

An H-E-B spokesperson tells residents what they need to do to apply, qualify and be approved.

Yvonne Loflin, H-E-B Public Affairs, “They bring in their ID, if their address shows that they live within a one mile radius, they’re automatically approved. If for some reason it doesn’t, all they have to do is bring some sort of bill. For our walking pedestrians all they have to do is bring their ID that they would normally cross the border with.”

H-E-B is also providing free home grocery delivery and curbside pickup for customers who don’t have transportation. You can apply for the B Metro card starting today. The last day to apply is October 20th.
