MCALLEN, Texas – McAllen city leaders and H-E-B partners breaking ground on a baseball field for all children including special needs. The “Miracle Field” baseball complex was built from a previous bond approved by McAllen voters. A $150,000 donation by the H-E-B Tournament of Champions will be used for the installation of a latex free rubber floor.

Javier Villalobos, McAllen City Commissioner, “This one is going to be modified so that children with special challenges will be able to utilize it. We will have rubber matting where if somebody is in a wheel chair they will be able to use it if somebody falls it won’t be dangerous so we’re very excited, the kids are very excited.”

Apart from the specialized surface Miracle Field will have accessible dugouts and bleachers.
