Gonzalez joins Public Broadcasting caucus

News

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Vicente Gonzalez joining the bipartisan Public Broadcasting Caucus. He joins Caucus Chair Earl Blumenauer of Oregon and more than 100 other members of Congress who believe the federal government has a responsibility to support public broadcasting.

“With more than 1.4 million people living in the Rio Grande Valley, it’s the largest market in the nation without a public broadcasting station,” said Congressman Gonzalez. “This caucus will provide a wealth of knowledge and resources for our endeavor to bring PBS and NPR back to the Valley.”

The office Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and members of the local community have created a working group to review the options of bringing back public radio and TV to South Texas.
