BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) — The Gladys Porter Zoo has announced another change to their hours of operation.
The change comes a week after the zoo began half-days last week.
Officials said attendance continued to drop causing the change in order to conserve zoo funds.
Effective Monday, July 20, the zoo will be open on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. During the weekend, the zoo will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Safety measures continue to remain in place to limit the spread of COVID-19. Facial covers are required for entry and while inside buildings and within six feet of other guests or staff and a one-way route around the zoo is in place to better allow for social distancing.
