Food franchise hoping to provide 100,000 meals to local food bank

News

PHARR, Texas – September is Hunger Action Month and one local food franchise is hoping to provide 100,000 meals to the Food Bank of the RGV.

Feeding America which is the National Association of Food Banks in the U.S. is partnering with Subway Restaurants. The sandwich chain across the Valley are in the middle of their Feeding America campaign. The more meals you purchase, the more meals will be donated to our local food bank.

Omar Rodriguez, Food Bank of the RGV, “Between now and the end of September, if you go in and buy two meals at Subway, they will donate an extra meal to us at the Food Bank in the Rio Grande Valley for our families here in the Valley.”

Throughout the 100 Subway Restaurants in the Valley, the franchise will donate up to 100,000 meals to the Food Bank of the RGV.
