FBI investigating shots fired at ICE office

News

SAN ANTONIO – The FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirms that at approximately 3:00 a.m., August 13 shots were fired into ICE, Immigration Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) office in San Antonio, at 1777 NE Loop 410. Shortly before or after, shots were also fired at a nearby building. Both buildings also house businesses completely unrelated to ICE operations. No injuries were reported. The FBI has opened an investigation into the shootings and is currently processing the crime scenes and reviewing surveillance footage.

“These shootings were cowardly, brazen, violent acts, absolutely without justification and a threat to our entire community,” stated Christopher Combs, Special Agent in Charge, San Antonio FBI. “An attempt to attack federal employees is a federal crime with serious consequences. The FBI will relentlessly pursue every lead in this case to find the individuals who are responsible.”

Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to contact the FBI at 210-225-6741 or online at www.fbi.gov/tips. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
