Edinburg woman accused of killing husband pleads not guilty

Edinburg, Texas (KVEO)—- An Edinburg woman charged with the murder of her husband waives her arraignment.

According to court documents, 47-year-old Karla Marlen de Leon entered a not guilty plea on Monday.

Officials say Marlen shot and killed her 46-year-old husband Hector De Leon on Dec. 8, 2019.

Authorities were called out to a disturbance on the 700 block of East Russel Rd., just before 6:45 p.m.

Marlen’s trial is set on September 14 in the 464th District Court. She remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
