Edinburg police officer surrenders after being on the wrong side of the law

News

EDINBURG, Texas – A former Edinburg police officer surrenders after being on the wrong side of the law.

Armando E. Celedon has turned himself in this morning and was arraigned at the Edinburg Municipal Court on charges of official oppression and tampering with government records.

This comes after authorities say the department received a complaint against Celedon for police misconduct.

Celedon served as a police officer for 16 years and recently as a Police Union President but was placed on indefinite suspension without pay after investigators found Celedon’s actions were consistent with the complaint.

Today, Celedon was transported to the Hidalgo County Jail with a bond set at $15,000
