BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Cameron County District Attorney’s office with Texas Southmost College is hosting the Domestic Violence Forum. A panel of advocates were on hand answering questions. Artwork being displayed outside the hall to showcase some of the victims who have died due to domestic violence. With forums like these, the goal is to try to stop this cycle by reaching out to teenagers and young adults.
Luis V. Saenz, District Attorney, “If we are going to make any progress on domestic violence, then we have to take a step back and start talking to the young people. The people that are starting to have relationships, starting to talk about getting married.”
Today’s forum was the first of two events this week. The next expo will be on Thursday, October 17th at Texas State Technical College.
