LA GRULLA, Texas – More than $10 million will be flowing into the city of La Grulla following a grant announcement from the United States Department of Agriculture.
The funds will be used to upgrade the city’s existing water system. The project is expected to double the water capacity while also ensuring the highest quality of water for residents.
Congressman Henry Cuellar was on hand for today’s announcement. As a member of the house appropriations committee, he was able to help secure the funds for the project.
“That is the largest amount of money the USDA has given this year and was received here and it’s important because it’s going to better the water plant and a new one will be constructed. It will be a better quality of life,” says Congressman Henry Cuellar.
Cuellar added that residents of Starr County rely on solid infrastructure for their community to thrive, grow, and succeed.
