HIDALGO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Hidalgo International Bridge have arrested a 33-year-old woman wanted in Sanford, N.C. on charges stemming from a drive-by shooting she was allegedly involved in late in October of this year.
On October 31, 2019, Denise Magdalena Pascual arrived at the Hidalgo International Bridge as a pedestrian. She presented her State of California issued birth certificate along with a North Carolina identification card and the Customs and Border Protection officer referred her to secondary inspection as a possible match to an arrest warrant.
Officers secured the woman and in secondary confirmed her identity along with the active arrest warrant from North Carolina for assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon in an occupied property, both federal charges.
Ms. Pascual is alleged to have been involved in a drive-by shooting in Sanford on October 21st where she used a 9mm handgun to shoot at a house where an adult man was shot and received serious injuries. The vehicle involved was a small silver compact of unknown make and model.
