Clear The Shelters 2017

‘Clear the Shelter’ is happening on Saturday, August 19 from 9:00 to 4:00 p.m.
News Center 23 and our partners, Telemundo 40 are teaming up for this public service campaign.

Animal shelters across the country will come together in hopes of finding a loving home for our furry friends and increasing pet adoptions.

Lexsis Martinez with the Isabel Garcia Animal Shelter said, “What we try and do is find as many homes for the homeless pets that we care for as we can it’s going to be this Saturday, August 19 from 9 to 4 and basically what happens is we usually have a big group of people lined up early in the morning we have our volunteers come in and give them a tour the pet that they’re interested in adopting they’ll fill out an application and to the adoption consultation with us and from there they were able to take home a new furry friend.”

The Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center in Edinburg, the Isabel Garcia Animal Shelter in Port Isabel, and the Yaqui Animal Rescue in Sullivan City will be involved in this national event.
