Clap in for teachers

News

SAN JUAN, Texas – A big surprise for some middle school teachers and staff in San Juan.

About 80 educators started their school day with a clap in.

It happened as community members gathered at Raul Yzaguirre Middle School.

That’s in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District.

A big celebration for the new school year and a way for everyone to show their appreciation.

The event was coordinated by the national education organization Teach For America.

Teach For America partnered with PSJA ISD to host the event in recognition of the outstanding efforts educators across the Rio Grande Valley make to support their students.
