City of McAllen advising residents to avoid flooded roads

MCALLEN — A torrential downpour has left many streets in McAllen with flooded areas.

The City of McAllen is advising residents to avoid the following areas due to flooding and other hazards:

Traffic signal out/flashing:

  • Business 83 and 6th street

Flooded areas:

  • Ware Road and 3 Mile Northbound
  • 23rd Street and Quince Avenue
  • Lark Avenue and Ware Road North and South Traffic
  • 4th Street between Redbud Avenue and Nolana Avenue
  • 2nd Street and Ridge Road
  • 16th Street between Quamasia and Wisteria Avenue
  • 6th Street and Xanthisman Avenue
  • 23rd Street between Quince and La Vista Avenue Outer Lane
  • 10th Street and Zinnia
  • Sarah Avenue between Ware Road and 23rd Street
  • 2nd Street
  • 23rd Street and Lucille Avenue
  • El Rancho Road between H Street and Jackson Road
  • 10th Street between Chicago Avenue and Dallas South bound Outer lane

Roads closed due to flooding:

  • Quamasia Avenue between 11st Street and 12th Street
  • 2nd Street between Savannah and Witchita – South Bound Outer Lane
  • 4th Street between Primrose Avenue and Quamasia Avenue
