CAMERON COUNTY, Texas – Cameron County is preparing for the mid-July runoff elections.
They are working on finding new locations for in person voting and how they will perform mail in ballots.
Election officials are also looking into personal protective equipment for crews at voting locations but trying to predict turnout is becoming tricky.
“Historically we have a lower turnout during a runoff election, but this time we don’t know what the impacts are going to be with respect to this delay,” said Remi Garza, Cameron County Elections Administrator.
Election officials are urging voters to update their voter registration.
