Cameron County lifting certain restrictions, extending shelter in place

CAMERON COUNTY, Texas – According to a press release from Cameron County, the county is extending the shelter in place order, but is also lifting certain restrictions.

The shelter in place order has been extended to May 4, 2020 at 11:59 P.M. said the release.

However, the release also said certain restrictions were being lifted.

Religious activities may now be engaged via remote methods or via drive thru services.

Golfing and tennis activities at private clubs will also be allowed starting April 21, 2020 with some provisions.

Retail shopping will now be allowed for pick-up, curbside or delivery for non-essential businesses.

Elective medical or dental procedures may now be performed.

According to the release all these activities still must not allow more than ten people to gather, and the use of face masks or coverings will still be required.
