BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Metro is celebrating 40 years of transportation services. Today people gathered at the La Plaza B Metro terminal, showing support for their community.
B Metro was established in 1978 and provides services for commuters to get from one place to another. Brownsville City Manager Noel Bernal shares the impact B Metro has had for it’s residents. “Brownsville Metro is here and with what they do transcends it’s health care, housing, jobs, education, it’s groceries. It’s daily living things.”
The Brownsville Metro continues to provide transportation to more than 1.5 million passengers annually. As part of their celebration, B Metro is offering free rides on October 17.
