BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) — A fire that started in Brownsville near Price Road has been extinguished.

The fire took place around the 1800 block of East Price Road.

According to Fire Chief Jarrett Sheldon, the fire department received the call around 4 p.m.

When the fire department arrived on scene there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the roof.

The building that was on fire shared a common attic with other buildings nearby so the fire department’s main priority was to stop the spread of the fire by spraying water from the outside onto the fire and the surrounding areas.

The fire took two hours to get under control and no injuries have been reported.

A fire marshal is currently at the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
