Bracelets donated to McAllen ISD food workers

MCALLEN, Texas — The daughter of a McAllen ISD food service employee has donated 191 bracelets to McAllen ISD food service employees.

Martha Vargas, whose mother worked for McAllen Food Services donated the bracelets to employees who served meals to children during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When people sign up to be cafeteria workers in a school, they never imagine things like this happening, and yet, the entire team has never faltered, always said yes, and continues feeding the community and we are going to start our summer feeding, so we aren’t even going to take a break,” said Alexandra Molina Child nutrition director.

Summer feeding will continue until July 31.
