HARLINGEN, Texas – The Boys and Girls Club in Harlingen was surprised with a new passenger van for children.
The local Firestone Bridgestone surprised them with the vehicle donation to help in providing transportation for low income families.
The goal is to provide an opportunity for all children to participate in after school programs such as sports and other socialization activities.
“There are so many opportunities for these children that don’t have access to mobility. If they need something to come for units or have extracurricular activities we have partnerships with the mobility with the van gives them access to use it,” says Vanessa Serna the Chief Volunteer Officer for the Boys and Girls Club Harlingen.
The Harlingen site is one of the 30 boys and girls clubs across the nation in this partnership with Bridgestone to receive a passenger van.
