Border Patrol disrupts five drug smuggling attempts

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – Border Patrol has disrupted five drug smuggling attempts.

Most of the attempts come from groups of people attempting to cross illegally with the bundles then fleeing after agents spotted them, leaving the narcotics behind.

The marijuana has an estimated street value worth more than $1.2 million.

The drug enforcement administration is now investigating.
