Border Patrol adds civilian jobs to handle influx of migrants

News

MCALLEN, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection have created new civilian jobs to help handle the influx of migrants along our border.

The job description notes those hired will help support Border Patrol Agents with humanitarian care and intake processing of detainees, including transporting them to proceedings and medical facilities.

This also includes logging the statuses of welfare checks.

Border Patrol Officials say adding these positions will help agents go out and do their job on the frontlines.

Positions are not only open in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, but also in the El Paso and Yuma Sector.
