Arrest made in Hit-and-Run on South Padre Island


SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – An arrest has been made in a South Padre Island hit-and-run accident that left several injured. One passenger remains in critical condition.

South Padre Island arrested 28-year-old Gregorio Gonzalez of Brownsville. Authorities say Gonzalez was driving a white four-door vehicle when he crashed into a golf cart occupied by five people, causing the cart to flip over.

The accident occurred on the 4900 block of Padre Boulevard. All five passengers were rushed to the hospital.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
