31st Crime Stoppers Conference taking place in Brownsville

News

Texas Crime stoppers coming together in Brownsville for an annual conference and training.

Since 1981, the community-based partnership program has been dedicated to relaying critical information to law enforcement while maintaining anonymity and trust in the public.

From October 9-11, volunteers from across the state will go through a series of sessions meant to help them maintain and establish their accreditation.

Felix Espinoza Jr., Cameron County volunteer says, “We encourage people to submit tips for crimes or anything that looks suspicious to them. We get more criminals off the ground, off the road and into the appropriate legal system to get prosecuted.”

Some of the topics this year include active shooter events, rule changes, and the implementation of the Crime Stoppers P3 App.
