PHARR, Texas – Saturday is the 2nd Annual “Share Your Spare” Kidney Run/Walk and Fun Run. It’s all to benefit the children in the Rio Grande Valley who are battling kidney disease.
The run will take place tomorrow morning (October 5) at 7:30 at the Driscoll Children’s Medical Plaza. It is located 1120 East Ridge Road in McAllen. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Driscoll Children’s Kidney Center.
Leonel Alvarado, event organizer, “We’re here to let these individuals know, these children know, that we’re here to support them and we’re here to help them with whatever it is that we can.”
In addition to the run you can also register to be an organ donor at the event. You can participate in the fun run for as little as $10. Entrance into the 5k run is $25.
