PHARR, Texas – Last month Subway restaurants partnered with Feeding America to help combat hunger in the Rio Grande Valley.

During Hunger Action Month, for every two meals purchased, Subway donated one meal to the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley up to 100,000 meals. It is the first-time Subway has partnered with Feeding America.

A local franchise owner said the organization was proud to join forces with Feeding America.

Aracely Villareal, Palm Valley franchise owner, “We were able to help a lot of families in the Valley. Hunger is an issue, situation that we have, and we were able to help feed adults, children, seniors.”

Subways in the RGV were able to meet that goal of providing 100,000 meals throughout Hunger Action Month.
