A woman was killed Saturday evening after getting hit by a pickup truck in Edinburg.

The auto-pedestrian crash happened at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 493 and Monte Cristo at about 8:30 p.m., according to information provided by Sgt. Johnny Hernandez, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities are looking for the driver of a gray Chevrolet pickup truck who allegedly hit the woman and fled the scene.

The vehicle is suspected to have damage to its left side, and is missing its front bumper.

The identity of the woman has not yet been released. The case has been turned over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
