There is so much to see and do in Rio and not all of it takes place at the Olympic Park. One popular spot is less than an hour’s drive away.
The Olympic Boulevard within the Olympic City can be found in downtown Rio. It stretches about two miles along the waterfront and it’s packed with people, people taking selfies. Luckily, there’s a giant hashtag in the background. It translates to Olympic City, locals will tell you.
One local, Johnny Castro, said the Olympics have been greaty for the area.
“The people like because this city is very changed. Before the city is very ugly, but Olympic games, this city’s revolution is very wonderful,” said Castro.
Castro’s thoughts are certainly noticeable at the Olympic Boulevard. More than 100 concerts are expected to take place there throughout the games and after the opening ceremony. The Olympic cauldron will be there as well.
