RGV -- Pockets of energy amid an unstable atmosphere laced with plenty of moist air leads to widely scattered showers, thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain.

It may not be the super-duper severe weather that produces baseball sized hail but it's enough to crank out 2 to 4 inches of rain in a given area.

The Rio Grande Valley is forecast to see (blobs) of heavy rain through the rest of the evening until about midnight.

Anywhere these slow moving downpours pass through there will be localized street flooding.

Stronger storms capable of producing similar rains, frequent lightning, large hail and damaging winds are forecast to sweep across the Rio Grande Valley tomorrow.
