The Rio Grande Valley has a good chance of seeing heavy showers and thunderstorm Saturday evening as a slow moving cold front sweeps through south Texas.

The cold front has already moved through north and central Texas brining heavy rains and much cooler temperatures.

In the afternoon hours the southeast wind will switch directions to the northwest ahead of the frontal boundary.

T-storms are also expected to develop ahead of this front, brining heavy rains and gusty winds with possible lightening and reduced visibility.

The skies are expected to clear Sunday with a continued Northwest wind and cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 80's.
