Rain showers moved through south Texas Sunday bringing rain in and around the Rio Grande Valley.

While the heaviest rains moved south of the border, some portions of the region saw more than an inch of rain.

Lingering showers are possible over night with another chance of afternoon showers on Monday.

A cold front is expected to move through the RGV on Tuesday bringing a greater chance for showers as well as cooler temperatures.

Dry, sunny conditions are expected to dominate the forecast after the frontal passage Tuesday.
