Valley residents turn to social media amid tornado, hail & rain

Rio Grande Valley residents turned to social media to share pictures and video of Thursday night’s storm.

The storm rolled in from the north around 6 p.m. Thursday and moved across the Valley.

It was all caught on camera through pictures and videos submitted by Action 4 News viewers.

The storm first hit Willacy County and then into Cameron County.

That's where viewer Bella Salinas Munguia a video of the winds in Harlingen and posted it to Facebook.

The storm brought hail to the Delta Lake area in Hidalgo County.

Viewer Art Martinez sent a picture via Facebook of hail stones he found in Monte Alto.

Facebook fan Rey Robles sent a picture of storm damage in Edinburg.

Joey Garcia took a picture of storm clouds off Schunior and Mon Mack Roads.

Viewers reported heavy lightning in Mercedes.

That's where Chris Desiga took this picture of a large lightning strike.

Just across town, Erika Reyes took a picture of a golf ball-sized hail stone.

In McAllen, residents reported heavy rain and even more hail.

The owners of the Glam Boutique posted a video to our Facebook page.

The video features heavy rain and hail off Dallas and Broadway in dowtown McAllen.

Melva Torres snapped a photo of a lightning strike in Mission.

Maricela Maldonado got this picture of lightning off South McColl Road in Hidalgo.

The storm then moved across the border to Reynosa.

That's where one viewer tweeted a photo of a lightning strike in Mexico.
