A colder, wetter weather pattern has emerged just as the calendar takes us into a new year, which means it’s finally time to break out those sweaters!

A front has moved across the Rio Grande Valley, bringing with it a much colder air mass to the area.

Temperatures can be expected to remain in the 50’s for daily highs, with 30’s and 40’s for lows through the weekend.

In addition,  rainy conditions and slick roads will persist over the next few days, with our greatest chance Wednesday, slowly diminishing by Friday.

Clouds can also be expected as a good amount of moisture filters in overhead.

The Valley won’t begin to see a warm up until we get to around Saturday.
