Cold front brings rain to lower valley

Temperatures across the Rio Grande Valley plummeted Sunday morning after a cold front pushed through the South Texas region.

Afternoon highs dropped about 10-15 degrees from Saturday to Sunday, but the cooler weather will be short lived.

Afternoon temperatures are expected to rise about ten degrees on Monday and will reach the 90's once again by Tuesday afternoon.

The heaviest shower activity took place along the coast and in eastern Cameron County Sunday.

Showers are expected to persist through Sunday night and Monday.

The extended forecast points to a chance of sea breeze showers throughout the valley Wednesday through Saturday.
