A man is dead after allegedly getting a shootout with Border Patrols agents just one hour north of the Rio Grande Valley.

Border Patrol officials confirmed it all happened near Hebbronville late Wednesday night.

Officials reported that agents pulled over a vehicle and ran a background check on the license plates.
