A Harlingen man was arrested after he assaulted a 77-year-old on Sunday.

Police responded to a home on the 1600 block of Sam Houston St. at around 3 a.m.

The victim said Hector Montalvo kicked him in the thigh. He also picked up rocks and threw them at him.

The 77-year-old man told police this happened after Montalvo became upset for being asked to leave the home.

Montalvo was taken into custody and taken to the Harlingen City Jail.

The 52-year-old was charged with Injury to the Elderly and his bond was set at $30,000.
