It took SWAT team members just a few minutes to clear out Donna Apartments on 3rd Street as they searched for a gunman.

A woman who lives in the same apartment where it was believed two men with guns had broken in waiting for a man to arrive says they were there to kill him.

There was no one home when they forced their way in, but the man they wanted did walk in and immediately ran for his life calling police in the process.

Authorities from several surrounding cities converged on the complex and the SWAT team entered apartment 26 looking for a gunman believed to have barricaded himself inside while another got away.

After several tense minutes they emerged without a suspect.

No arrests, but also no injuries.

Now Donna police begin a search for the people involved.
