Authorities have identified man whose body was found in a south McAllen neighborhood but court records show that he had a criminal past.

McAllen police said the body of 31-year-old Pharr resident Steven Florido was found on the 2400 block of Mobile Avenue on Tuesday morning.

A cause of death is not clear but an autopsy has been ordered.

Court records show that McAllen police arrested Florido and three other men arrested back in July 2009.

The four were accused of breaking into a downtown McAllen pawn shop to steal handguns.

Florido got three years probation for his role in the case but a judge revoked it in January 2011 and sentenced him to six months in prison.

The Pharr man had another arrest for Class B misdemeanor theft in November 2012 where he was sentenced to 18 days in jail.
